In another beautiful production from Living Arts, teacher Rodney Yee brings 18 years of experience to a workout designed specifically to stretch, strengthen, and energize the upper body. On a sunny hillside overlooking the ocean on Maui, Yee flows through poses designed to develop an open, supported chest, which in turn promotes healthy circulation, breathing, digestion, and posture. Comprised of sun salutations, back bends, and a cool down, this complete 20-minute routine offers lots of instruction to keep the poses dynamic. A folded blanket under the palms may help people with weak wrists and/or repetitive stress injuries who find it difficult to hold the poses as long as Yee does. A rolled blanket is necessary for some of the stretches, and a sticky mat is recommended. –Jhana Bach
